Hi, I’m Ian Hayes.

I trained in Gestalt psychotherapy after over 25 years working in business consultancy, marketing and market research — work I still do occasionally. It can be stimulating and often fun, but I also know how stressful, draining and constraining work can sometimes be. It’s easy to lose touch with what we actually want or need.

Over time, I’ve found myself more drawn to people - to what they’re going through - than to solving business problems. That shift, along with being married and raising two now-grown children, gave me a different perspective on what really matters.

I’ve also been in therapy myself for five years, so I’ve got a good sense of how I tend to be - what comes easily, what’s more challenging - and I’m still discovering more about myself.

I studied at the Metanoia Institute, where I completed a Level 6 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling with a specialism in Gestalt Therapy - an approach that focuses on present-moment awareness and opening up new perspectives.
